Bio

Hi, my name is Alyssa Cox and I am a junior at Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas.

Soccer has been a huge part of my life for almost 12 years.  I started playing club soccer when I was 5 years old, a year after I was introduced to this wonderful sport. I have devoted so much time and energy into soccer, and plan to continue doing so in college.  I have played at the highest level since I can remember, which is why I want to play at a school that will continue to push and develop me.  I play attacking mid for club, and center forward for High School.  As an attacking mid, I use my vision to read the field and make decisions on when and where to play the ball.  As a center forward, I use my physicality to take shots and draw in defenders to create opportunities for my team.  I play club soccer for Sting Black ECNL, and varsity soccer for Plano Senior High.  During my youth career I was fortunate to win 3 nationally recognized tournaments (Dallas International Girls Cup, Surf Cup, and SuperCopa) and was called up to my high school varsity team as a freshman.

I am a very hardworking and competitive person.  I take school and soccer very seriously and maintain a 3.76 GPA.  I give my 110% in every school assignment.  I’m a perfectionist with my work and my grades and won’t settle for any less than my best.  I currently take AP US History, honors Chemistry and English and plan to add more Honors and AP classes over the next two years.  I’m a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, National Honor Society, and was a 6-6A District Soccer All Academic (90 GPA) as a freshman and sophomore.  I want to go to a school that challenges me both academically and athletically and after graduation pursue a career in the medical field.

On the field, my coaches and teammates would say I am an extremely tough competitor and never give up no matter the score.  Off the field, my friends and family would say I have a big heart and care for the people around me, and that I am always trying to make people laugh.  When I’m not training I enjoy playing golf, and hanging out with my friends.  I have two loving parents, and a brother who plays collegiate volleyball at the University of Arkansas.  My family is the most important thing to me, they’re my whole support system and have molded me into the person I am today.
